The Peoples Fishermen
With saltwater in our veins and generations of commercial fishing behind us, we pride ourselves on sustainable practices and sharing the best of what the ocean has to offer. As a family business, we are committed to delivering top-quality seafood while protecting our marine environment. We are so glad you are here! We are excited for you to join us on this incredible journey and experience the best of Whidbey Seafoods.
Our story begins in 2018, When Whidbey Island Seafood Company was founded
When brothers Andrew and Adam Hosmer and their childhood friend, Devin Parrick, founded Whidbey Island Seafood Company in 2018, they were determined to bring high-quality traceable seafood, sustainably harvested by artisan fisheries, to consumers that demand great product.
The goal was simple - only sell the best wild-caught, flash-frozen seafood directly from our dock to our customer's doorstep.
For three decades we’ve sailed, fished, and eaten countless crabs together on Whidbey Island, 30 miles north of Seattle in the Puget Sound.
Andrew and Adam grew up on the water with a dad who ventured from the East Coast to the West Coast to captain the renowned Baranof fishing boat in the Bering Sea in the 1980s.
After college, the Hosmer brothers took to the sea on the Baranof and learned the business from the water, while Devin pursued an interest in software technology and learned how to create and grow businesses through e-commerce.
The three bridged their talents in 2018 to bring high quality seafood products to our underserved local community and greater national market.
Educating consumers is important to us
When you know where your seafood comes from and how it’s caught, you can feel good about what you’re feeding your family. Sharing our knowledge about sustainable fishing, the benefits of flash-frozen freshness, and the importance of protecting our oceans helps us build a trusting relationship with you. We want you to be part of our journey, and we know that an informed consumer base helps us promote sustainability, supports responsible fishing, and ensures that future generations can continue to enjoy the bounty of the sea.
