F/V ST. JUDE
Welcome aboard the St. Jude, a 95-foot fishing vessel and the pride of the Malley family. Based in Seattle, the Malleys have championed sustainable fishing practices since 1978. Captain Joe Malley, who began his journey salmon trolling in Sitka, Alaska, now leads the St. Jude in pursuing premium Albacore tuna across the North and South Pacific. If you are looking for the right Albacore tuna—low in mercury, high in omega-3 oils, and sustainably caught—you've come to the right place.

The St. Jude is more than just a 95-foot fishing vessel; it’s a testament to the Malley family's enduring commitment to sustainable fishing and quality seafood. Fishing 12 months a year, the St. Jude follows Albacore tuna from the North Pacific in summer to the South Pacific in fall. Each Albacore is individually caught on hooks and lures dragged behind the boat, ensuring minimal impact on the ocean’s food chain. On average, only two non-target species are caught per thousand Albacore, demonstrating the precision and sustainability of this method.
The St. Jude's meticulous process ensures that each fish is handled with care. Each Albacore is landed on a cushioned platform to prevent bruising, quickly processed, and put into the on-board blast freezer to preserve its quality. The oversized freezers and limited daily catch guarantee rapid freezing, maintaining the fish's exceptional freshness.
Joe and Joyce Malley’s dedication extends beyond just catching fish. They believe in respecting the ocean's ecosystem, avoiding wasteful methods, and ensuring no marine mammals or sharks are harmed during their operations. The Malleys' approach embodies the true spirit of sustainable fishing, balancing the need to provide high-quality seafood with a deep respect for the marine environment. It's a privilege to partner with the Malley family and to bring you the very best that the ocean has to offer!

Trolling Single Hook
Single hook trolling is a method where individual hooks are rigged with lures and dragged behind the boat. This technique allows each salmon to be caught one at a time, ensuring minimal stress and high quality. Trolling is a low-impact, sustainable fishing method that protects the marine environment and supports the health of fish populations. It’s not the fastest way, but it is the best way!
